This letter is a parody of making the transition from Corporate America to a non-corporate environment.  It was originally drafted in January 2019, but I finally finished it 10 months later.  The moral of the story is that there is so much for people to gain from Corporate America experiences.  Always choose the companies you work for wisely and make sure they align with your long term goals.

The journey has its ups and downs, but if it were that easy, then everyone would be doing it!

Dear Corporate America,

We’ve been together for 20+ years but it’s time to break up.  I’m moving in a different direction.

Before we part ways, I want to thank you for:

  • Exposing me to my passions – Technology, Sales and Marketing
  • Becoming a Master of my Craft in certain technology stacks
  • Building tremendous contacts and credibility
  • Top notch sales training
  • The opportunity to FAIL and to be SUCCESSFUL

You taught me many things, but most importantly, that trust, reliability and execution supersedes everything.

I am forever grateful that you helped me gain the confidence to compete on the highest levels.  However, it led me to falling in love with a small business named Livtech where I run Sales and Marketing.  We are not only having the time of our lives, but we are also having much success helping enterprises of all sizes execute on their digital strategies.

This is just farewell, not goodbye.  You never know, our paths may cross again 🙂

Love,

Anthony
